Cruz de la Parra
Baracoa, Cuba
December 17, 2003

The Cruz de la Parra, housed in the Baracoa Catedral, is claimed to be the oldest symbol of Christianity in the New World, supposedly brought over by Columbus himself. It is made of wood, although the four points are now covered with metal, as pilgrims often tried to break splinters off as relics.
