Choir Practice
Baracoa, Cuba
December 17, 2003

A long, long drive taken on a whim, to visit the oldest city in Cuba. Baracoa lies perched on a bay discovered by Columbus. It has a far more tropical feeling than the rest of Cuba – more jungle like surroundings. We just had time for a quick lunch and a brief tour of town, which concluded with a short stop in the Catedral de la Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, a small church built in 1512 and restored in 1833. Choir practice was being held, but they didn’t seem to notice our presence and we enjoyed the music as we wandered.
