El Morro Fortress
Santiago de Cuba, Cuba
December 16, 2003
El Morro Fortress (also known San Pedro de la Roca) stands at the entrance of the Bay of Santiago. A UNESCO World Heritage site, it was designed in 1637 and took 62 years to build. It has served as both a garrison and a prison.
It was a lot of fun to wander around, peeking in all the little hidden places, but walking over the wooden slatted drawbridge gave me some serious vertigo.
