Plaza Major

Last stop of the day was the Plaza Mayor, where I paused to admire the golden light of the setting sun on the façade of Iglesia Parroquhial de la Santísma Trinidad. Tired from spending all day walking the hot cobblestone streets, it was still difficult to take my leave of Trinidad and return to my hotel room. But getting to ride back to the hotel in the back of a cocotaxi, more than cheered me up. The tiny motor couldn’t quite make it all the way up the steep hill our hotel was located on though, so we had to get out a hundred yards or so from the lobby and make our way to our hotel rooms laughing hysterically, buzzed by the sensation of zipping through the busy streets of Trinidad, everyone and everything no more than an arms length away.
