Doggie in the Window

A typical window in Trinidad. The small dog watches me warily as I take this shot.
Its difficult to really tell from this angle, but the bars extend a foot or two out from the window itself leaving a nice ledge for people to set up rocking chairs and watch the people passing by. That was perhaps one of the most memorable aspects of Cuban life for me how much of it is lived on the street. People everywhere sit in their windows or on their porches, hang out of windows, or lounge about for hours in the local square meeting and greeting their friends and neighbors.
