Ah, Trinidad! Founded in 1514 by Diego Velázquez and declared a UNESCO heritage site in 1988, Trindad is the crown jewel of Cuba. Due to a long period of isolation, many of the buildings remain unadulterated historic treasures. The colorful walls, ornate windows, rough cobblestone streets all make for a beautiful city. Add in the bright hard tropical light and the music that seems to pour out of every street, and you’ll definitely regret only having a single day to really discover Trinidad’s delights.
I was in heaven as I wandered the strangely sloped streets all day, camera in hand, taking in the life all around me. It was blisteringly hot, but I hardly noticed.
