The “Charity Theater” was opened in 1885. In addition to a beautiful ornate theater it also housed a barbershop, ballroom, casino and restaurant, the proceeds of which were donated to the city’s poor. I found this enclosed walkway on the exterior of the Theater, with its relatively simple iron scrollwork interesting.
