Morro Lighthouse
Havana, Cuba
December 6, 2003
Despite getting only three hours of sleep the night before, I was wired when we finally got to our hotel in Havana and eager to set out and see the sites. Fortunately we were at the Plaza, a wonderfully central location for wandering about. It was just a short walk to the famous Malecσn where I was delighted to find that the stormy weather had resulted in good-sized waves crashing over the sea wall. Delighted, that was, until I started getting salt water all over my camera. Then I started running back and forth trying to get away from the waves, looking a bit like one of those little birds at the seashore that darts in out of the tide.
